The problem

Rental operations run on two things that tend to fight each other: an accurate calendar and a signed contract. Most keep the first in a spreadsheet and the second in a drawer. Add a second location and double bookings stop being an edge case, while deposits turn into a manual chase that somebody has to remember.

How we built it

Availability is computed in real time rather than stored as a status someone has to remember to update, so a booking either fits or it does not. Contracts are generated per booking and reach the customer through their own portal. Deposits and rent run as two separate flows through Stripe, because money that is held is not money that is taken. The data layer is multi-tenant with permission rules enforced beneath the application, so staff at one location cannot see customers from another.

Where it landed

Live across five locations behind a single admin dashboard, with a customer portal that handles contracts without staff involvement and deposit handling that no longer depends on anyone remembering to chase it.
